Dear Charlestown Pirate
Fans,
Excitement abounds throughout Charlestown High School. The building project
is coming into fruition, the one-to-one computer initiative is nearing
reality, and our athletic teams are set for another successful year.
The 2008-2009 school year was another year of championships for our athletic
teams. Congratulations to the 2008 football team for adding another MSC
championship trophy to our trophy case (back-to-back). The Charlestown
wrestling team continues to dominate the MSC conference and our 2009
baseball team won its first sectional baseball title since 1999! Be sure to
congratulate members of these teams and their coaches. Charlestown athletes
continue to work hard in the weight room and participate year round in clubs
and leagues and their efforts are being rewarded with the championships they
are bringing to Charlestown.

There is valuable information on the site pertaining to their by-laws, rules
and regulations, minutes of board meetings, travel directions, nicknames of
schools, and a variety of other information. I often receive questions
about the IHSAA and their rules and most answers can be found by searching
their website. Of course, I am always glad to answer your questions.
However, when I do not have an immediate answer, I go to
www.ihsaa.org.
Thank you for your support of our athletic teams. Many of you donate time,
money, and resources in order for our athletes to have the best equipment
and facilities that we possibly can. The Pirate Pride Booster Club, and our
individual team booster clubs, continue to give of themselves for the sake
of our athletes. Everything you do from buying tickets, popcorn, drinks,
shirts, hats, The Hawk burger and the traditional Mastin burger, all help
purchase new uniforms and the equipment needed for our athletes to safely
compete and to proudly represent the community of Charlestown. Thank you to
our business and corporate sponsors who continue to advertise in our program
through tough economic times. I encourage all pirate fans to visit these
businesses and tell them how much you appreciate their support!
The pride of our community continues to shine throughout Southern Indiana.
Charlestown is made up of an amazing group of people who love their
community, love their schools, and most importantly, love their children!
