the finals in all 14 weight classes. Not only did the Pirate grapplers

Pirate Grapplers Extend Dominance of MSC
The Pirate Wrestling Team
hosted the annual Mid-Southern Conference Duals meet this past Saturday in
Dunn Arena. The Pirate Wrestlers kept their Mid-Southern Conference
winning streak alive with four more wins, despite several battles with
injuries. The Pirates extended their consecutive MSC winning streak to
40 matches, a streak dating back to December of 2003. In the opener of
the MSC Duals, the Pirates pounded Salem 72-3 and then followed that up with
a 72-6 whipping of Eastern. In round three, the Pirates fell behind
Corydon 16-10 early, before momentum shifted and the Pirates cruised to a
66-16 victory. In the final MSC bout of the day, competition got a
little exciting against the Scottsburg Warrior. In a "great,
back-and-forth dual" the Pirates escaped with a 47-36 win over the talented
Warriors. Pirates finishing the day undefeated were Sophomore David
Enteman and Senior Mark Daugherty. Congratulations to
Pirate Wrestling for acquiring their 6th consecutive MSC Duals title!
The Pirates have won four consecutive Mid-Southern Conference titles, six
out of the last seven years and are posed to capture their seventh title
this decade. The Pirates are back in action Wednesday when they travel
to Eastern (Pekin) for more MSC competition.

The Pirates, thanks to a decisive victory in the 171 class by Junior Ethan
Bowen, where able to squeak a 42-40 victory over the home standing Rebels.

mats cover the Dunn Arena floor on Saturday, the Pirates will look to extend
their conference winning streak to 36 straight. A win will also give
the Pirates their 6th consecutive MSC Duals title. MSC Duals wrestling
