Charlestown Pirate Boy's
Tennis practice will begin Monday, August 2nd, from 8:15 - 10:00 am.
Tennis practice will be held at the Charlestown Middle School courts.
Players are reminded to bring their own water. All athletes must bring a
completed physical with them, unless already on file with the athletic
department.
Coach Ryan would like to encourage all male
athletes not participating in a fall sport to come out for the tennis team.
Tennis season begins August 2nd, ending near the first week of October.

Cross Country Practices Scheduled
Charlestown Pirate and
Lady Pirate Cross Country practice will officially begin on Monday, August 2nd.
Any interested high school student, boy or girl, should meet at the
Charlestown State Park, Trail #2 location, on Monday, August 2 @ 6:00 pm to
begin. All participants must have a completed IHSAA sports physical in
order to practice. Additionally, ten practices must be completed
before competing. The Cross Country team is also looking for team managers.

Lady Pirate Soccer Season Begins August 2nd
Charlestown Lady Pirate
Soccer
begins practices Monday, August
2nd, at the Charlestown Middle School soccer field. The team will practice
8 am to 10 am, Monday - Friday. Please bring your own water, shin guards,
cleats, and running shoes. Players must have completed IHSAA Sports
Physicals to practice and at least ten practices prior to competing in the
first game, which is August 17 at home. For more information, contact

Terrell Approved as New Lady Pirate Head Coach
Lady
Pirate Basketball has a new head coach, as Sam Terrell was
officially approved by the Greater Clark School Board on Tuesday evening in
a special session. Terrell takes over the head coaching duties of the CHS
Girl’s Basketball program; replacing Tony Hall, who retired this past March
after thirteen seasons as the girls basketball head skipper. Terrell, who
is currently completing a Masters degree through Ball State, will also teach
special education at Charlestown High School. Terrell, 38, comes to the
Lady Pirate program from Castle High School (southwestern Indiana); where he
spent five years as a varsity assistant and junior varsity head coach of
girls basketball.

Lady Pirate Golf Begins Season July 30th
Lady
Pirate Golf will
conduct
its first practice on
Friday, July 30th, beginning
at 10:00 a.m. at the Hidden Creek Golf Course. All players must have
completed physicals before practicing can begin. Questions can be directed

CMS Football Practice Begins August 2nd
Charlestown Middle School Football practice for seventh and
eighth graders will begin on Monday, August 2nd at the Charlestown Middle
School football field. Practice will continue Monday through Friday
from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm until school starts on August 19th. Players
will need football cleats, a combination lock and a football girdle (those
with pads sewn in are recommended) within the first few days of practice.
It is mandatory that all players have a current sports physical before
participating. Physical forms are available on the
Charlestown
Middle School or the
IHSAA websites. If you do not have
internet access or have trouble downloading the physical form, please
contact Coach David Daniel at 502-876-1555 or 812-256-4231.
